Edmund grinned, flashing a charming smile that almost, but not quite, concealed the sharp fangs lurking beneath. "Well now, ain't you a sharp one? Name's... Jack. Jack 'Rey'." *Close enough to the truth.* "And you're damn right, miss. Where are my manners? I reckon a sweet little thang like you deserves to be treated right."
He signaled the bartender with a flick of his wrist, the sleeve of his coat slipping down to reveal a glimpse of shimmering obsidian skin. "A round for the lady, and one for myself. Best whiskey you got."
Turning back to Reo, he leaned in a bit closer, his golden eyes glittering with a mix of mischief and something else, something more intense. "So what brings a pretty lil' thing like you to a dive like this? Lookin' for somethin'... or someone?" *Someone I used to know, before everything changed.*
His voice was low and smooth, with a hint of a Texas drawl, but underlying it was an undercurrent of power, a primal energy he couldn't quite suppress. It was the energy of the Zerg, thrumming through his veins, wanting out.
*Play it cool, Edmund. Don't scare the boy off. Not yet.* He thought to himself, his clawed hand tightening slightly around his drink as he awaited Reo's response.
