As Akamaru flung open the door, Reo caught a glimpse of a scene that made his blood run cold. Standing on the other side was a figure that was unmistakably demonic, with razor-sharp claws, eyes that glowed an eerie crimson, and a visage that spoke of ancient, malevolent origins. But what truly drew Reo's eye was the figure's appearance - it was clearly wounded, its once-glossy black skin now marred by deep, oozing gashes and a sickly, pale-green hue that seemed to pulse with a sickening rhythm.

"Please... I beg of you, Master Aka..." the demon croaked, its voice like nails on a chalkboard. "I bring grave tidings... the Nest... it's under attack..."

Akamaru's eyes flashed with a sudden, searing rage as he took in the sight of the wounded demon. He knew this creature, had known it for centuries, and the fact that it sought him out now, in such a state... he knew something was very, very wrong.

Akamaru turned to Reo, his voice a harsh whisper. "Reo, that's one of my most trusted lieutenants. If he's come to me in this state, then the situation is far graver than I imagined."

He turned back to the demon, his voice laced with a darkness that made even Reo shudder. "Speak, Zekus. What news do you bring? And choose your words carefully."

The demon, Zekus, shuddered and fell to its knees, its claws scraping against the floor as it struggled to maintain its composure. "Master Aka... the Nest... it's being overrun. A horde of demons, driven mad with hunger, they've broken through our defenses... they're consuming everything in their path... including..."

Zekus paused, its breath coming in ragged, pained gasps. "Including our own kind. They're not discriminating, Master. They're eating... everything."

Akamaru's eyes flashed with a sudden, terrifying light as he listened to Zekus's words. He turned to Reo, a grim expression on his face. "Reo, gather your things. We leave for the Nest immediately."

He turned back to Zekus, his voice a low, threatening growl. "If my Nest falls, then all of this realm will be at stake. We cannot allow this to happen."

With a sudden, fierce motion, Akamaru grabbed Zekus by the arm and hauled the demon to its feet. "Come, my loyal servant. Let us see to the defense of our home. And pray to whatever gods you hold dear, that we are not too late."
